Rosemont RC had a great day at the Delaware Open Cross Country Championships at Brandywine Creek State Park on Saturday, winning the DE Open, USATF Masters and Open Team Championships, and the Off Road Grand Prix all on the same day; the best single day performance in club history. Daryl Weaver (Men’s Open) and Mike Dolan (Men’s Masters) also wrapped up individual Grand Prix Championships at Brandywine; with Mike setting a new course record for the Master's race. Mike not only won the Masters race in course record time, but, within 5 minutes of finishing that race, started, ran and finished the Open race in 7th place, only 26 seconds slower than his first race. This was a truly a spectacular day for Mike and, without a doubt, the most impressive individual performance in club history. Thanks to all 15 Rosemont Runners who participated. More to come as race results become available.

Rosemont had a full scoring team at this past weekend?s Ben Franklin Bridge 10k run, but times were slowed and scores lowered by poor race management. At least three of our top runners were in the lead pack of 30-50 that went off course by at least ˝ mile due to a lack of markings or race officials at the turnaround point. Despite the loss of 25-30 points due to the screw up, Rosemont still scored over 351 points in the race. Josh Emory, Jeff Painter, Derek Schultz, Gene Dykes, and Hilary Dykes were the scorers for Rosemont. Letters of protest have been sent to the USATF, as this snafu affected us more than other clubs (we had more runners in the lead pack than other clubs). Despite this setback, our road racing team has scored far more points in the Grand Prix Series than we ever had in club history, with only Philadelphia Marathon day (we can score ten runners through any combination of the three races that day) left on the Grand Prix schedule.
